    Work Conditioning

There are many phases in managing work injuries successfully. Many times the demands of work are greater than what an individual who is nearing completion of their rehabilitation can handle. Work Conditioning is performed within the course of post injury therapy and contains a wide variety of therapeutic activities for general strength and conditioning along with a variety of work simulation tasks being performed as a part of a client’s work conditioning session. An example might be a warehouse worker who has repetitive lifting and carrying from specific heights with specific weights. We would attempt to simulate as much of that activity as possible have the highest level of confidence in a safe return to work activities. In general, it is a progression of activities both in intensity and duration to come as close to simulating work level activities as possible in a more controlled environment. Typically work conditioning is performed on a 3 to 5 day per week basis for 1 to 4 hours per session. There is a wide variety in what individual treatment days may look like– but it is our best attempt to get a worker ready to return to their regular levels of activity as quickly and safely as possible.
