PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Psychology and physical therapy go hand in hand, to Andrew. While growing up in Nebraska, his active sports life (football, skiing, running) led to injuries, and he saw first-hand the power of exercise and strengthening. He also discovered how much of the battle is mental. The psychology major was an early adapter of accelerating and sustaining the recovery by treating everything related to the injury, not just the injury itself. He opened his practice in 2004 with that approach, creating a personal, encouraging environment that helps a client believe in themselves. “Seeing a person come in and thrive—maybe someone who didn’t believe they could get better or had been unsuccessful with other efforts—that is too cool.” He enjoys camping and traveling with his family. He has coached youth sports. He can juggle. And he may be “the single worst pool player to ever own a pool table.” But when it comes to building a physical therapy practice that is friendly, unique, and client-focused, that you can chalk up.
