PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Amy knows the value of physical therapy first-hand, having experienced health issues as a youth and being a physically active person. It gave the Shenandoah-area native a personal perspective on physical therapy benefits: “I’m excited about being able to help people live life the way they want to and not be restricted by pain, mobility, or weakness.” Amy works in all aspects of physical therapy but has expertise with vestibular patients: helping those who struggle with vertigo, dizziness, or motion-induced sickness, such as when standing up too quickly or balance issues from strokes. Physical therapy, to her, is a whole-body focus to get the most out of life, something she exercises herself. She stays active with 3 pre-teen kids, enjoys outdoor activities, and coaches volleyball.
Amy, who joined JPT in 2005, serves as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education. Contact her if you are interested in the field of physical therapy and want to observe in the clinic.
